Applying to the Postgraduate Aesthetic Medicine/ Plastic Surgery/ Burn Care Programmes

Entry Requirements

 All courses have the following requirements.

IELTS score of 6.5 or TOEFL 590 or more is required for international students.

Access to a computer with Internet connection is essential for undertaking the course.

The College follows the UK Fee Classification Regulations which require students to meet two criteria to be considered "Home" students for fee payment purposes. Applicants need to a) have right of abode in the UK (i.e. have no restrictions on their right to stay in the UK - this usually takes the form of UK or EU Citizenship, Asylum Status, Indefinite Leave to Remain or Exceptional Leave to Remain) AND b) have been ordinarily resident in the UK for a minimum of three years prior to the start of the programme.

Requirements for MSc in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Qualification requirements for the course are MBBS; MRCS A & B or equivalent. It is exclusively for Plastic Surgeons in training or equivalent abroad.

Requirements for MSc in Burn Care / Postgraduate Certificate in in Burn Care

An MBBS or equivalent, Bachelors degree in professions allied to Medicine (e.g. Dietetics & Nutrition, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology or equivalent). The PGCert Burn Care course will be open in September 2014.

Requirements for Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma/Master in Aesthetic Medicine

Qualification requirements for the course are MBBS/BDS or equivalent, Nursing or Midwifery Degree (diploma not accepted) with 4 years experience

Requirements for MSc in Reconstructive Microsurgery

Qualification requirements for the course are MBBS; MRCS  or equivalent.

Fees

Fees for the MSc in Aesthetic Surgery commencing 6th October 2014 are:
  • £3,850 per year for the UK students
  • £6,675 per year for the International Students.
Fees for the MSc in Burn Care commencing 6th October 2014 are:
  • £3,850 per year for UK students
  • £6,675 per year for International students

Fees for the PG Cert in Burn Care commencing 6th October 2014 are:

  • £2,570 per year for UK students
  • £4,450 per year for International students
Fees for the PG Cert in Aesthetic Medicine commencing 6th October 2014 are:
  • £2,570 per year for UK students
  • £4,450 per year for International students

How to Apply

We are currently accepting applications for the programmes commencing 6th October 2014. The closing date for applications is 31st August 2014. To submit an application please provide the following:

  • Barts and The London (SMD) Postgraduate Online Application Form 

     Hard copies of the following documentation should be sent to the relevant course administrator:-    

  • Certified copy of Passport
  • Certified copy of Medical Degree Certificate or Certified copy of Full GMC Certificate
  • English Language Proficiency Certificate (International Programme Only)
  • PLEASE NOTE: INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED
